The 2017 Mohawk Season will start on Monday March 20 at Upper Dublin. We will be going 4 night a week.

This past weekend some of the Mohawk girls wrestled in the Gotham City Tournament held at Cornell University in NY.  Leading the way for Team PA who finished in 2nd place were Caitlyn and Amanda Walker who both captured championship. Caitlyn also won a Cadet Championship on Saturday. Other Mohawk girls that place were Julia Dillon (2nd) and Alanna Barberio (5th). Below is a complete list of all the PS Girls.

Walker girls have a great weekend at Girls Folkstyle Nationals held in Oklahoma City. Amanda Walker competed
at Junior 117 and was the National Runner Up. Caitlyn earned two All-American honors by placing 3rd at Cadet (94) and 8th at Juior (100).  Coach Stabilito Jr made the trip to coach the girls.

Mohawk had 9 girls compete this past weekend in the 2017 PAWF Girls Folkstyle States. Aislyn Newell (1-3-44), Rylee Netter (4-5-76), Caitlyn Walker (HS-97) and Amanda Walker (HS-124) were all crowned State Champions. Also placing for Mohawk were Shannon Muncer (1-3-50) 2nd, Macayla Needham (4-5-76) 3rd, Julia Dillon (4-5-82) 3rd, Alanna Barberio (MS-113) 3rd, Jameson Hannigan (MS-120) 4th and Caitlyn Walker (HS105) 3rd.

Walker Girls capture the Sword at Shogun Tournament

Amanda took first place at 120 pounds and Catilyn placed first at 95-105. Julia Dillon placed 2nd at 11 and under 80-90.




Team PA Girls Team wrestled in the FLWC Fall Classic Tournament in Cornell on Saturday November 19 and placed 2nd. Mohawk had 4 of it’s wrestlers on the Team. Julia Dillon (75/80), Caitlyn Walker (95), Amanda Walker (115) and Alanna Barberio (120) they all played a big part in the team success. Amanda Walker was 6-0 on the day.

Coach Joe Stabilito Jr was one of the Coaches along with Chris Atkinson (Contender Elite). We are proud of our Girls for the great work they have put in this year and wish them continued success this upcoming season.

On Saturday the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association held it first girls only wrestling clinic at it’s annual convention held at the Holiday Inn in Grantville, PA. The event was successful and another will be planned for next year. The Head Clinician was Jessica Medina. Special Guest Clinician was Olympian Adeline Gray and helping out were Joe Stabilito Jr., Terry Fike and Joe Stabilito Sr.

Just a remind that we will start preseason the Monday September 12th at both Neshaminy and Upper Dublin from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. and continue every Monday and Wednesday until mid-November. Again there is no cost associated with this so come and get ready for the upcoming season.

Mohawk Wrestling club is honored to have the Walker Girls (Amanda and Caitlyn) as part of their family competing at the Elite level of the sport.

Amanda is an 11th grader at Upper Moreland High School and besides wrestling International competition will compete as a member of the School’s Varsity. Amanda had a 22-10 record and was a District Qualifier last season. Caitlyn will be a 9th grade at Upper Moreland and is planning on competing for the Wrestling Teams but might be restricted because of her weight. Caitlyn won two league titles in Middle School against all boy’s competition and is a multiple time Folkstyle Girls State Champion.

Caitlyn is currently a member of the Cadet National Teams and will represent the USA in Tbilisi, Georgia. She is currently in camp in Minnesota preparing for this competition that will begin September 13 through September 18.  Caitlyn will be wrestling on Thursday September 15. First Session will be at 2:00 AM ET with the finals being at 10 AM ET. The event will be on Flowrestling.

The rest of the year the girls will be required to go to various camps and tours that will include Phoenix AZ, Vancouver Canada, New York City, Klippan Sweden, Oklahoma City, and Colorado Springs.

Along with this great opportunity comes an expense.  So we are asking our Mohawk family to help defray some of these costs by contributing to the Walker fund. Any amount you would be willing to donate would be greatly appreciated.

Mohawk Wrestling Club wishes GOOD LUCK to Caitlyn Walker on her trip to Cadet Worlds. We will be giving you the results of her matches.

 Amanda Walker added another National Title to her record by winning the NuWay National Championship at 120. Patrick Walker placed 4th at 220.

Mohawk sends 5 wrestlers to National Championship in Fargo, ND. On the mens side Riley Palmer (138), Trevor Elfvin (152) and Vincent Stabilito (170) but they did not place. On the Girls side we had Caitlyn Walker win a National Title at Cadet 88 and Amanda was a 2X All American placing 4th at Cadet 108 and became the National Runner Up at Junior 112.

Two Mohawk girls shined at 2016 Body Bar Caitlyn and Amanda Walker. Caitlyn won her weight class to make the World Team and Cadet National Team and Amanda placed 3rd at 49 KG.

While the boys were wrestling in the club duals our girls Amanda and Caitlyn Walker were wrestling in the 3rd Annual Beat the Streets Gotham City that took place at Columbia University in New York City.  Amanda won the tilte in both Cadet (105) and Junior (108). Caitlyn won Cadet 84 and moved up to Junior 97 and placed 3rd. Hard work does pay off for these girls who will both compete in the Body Bar National Championship on May 20 – 22 in Texas.

Mohawk Junior Dual Team places 8th in PAWF Junior Club Duals on Mothers Day. They placed second in there pool and then dropped two straight matches to place 8th. Leading the way for Mohawk with 4 wins was Vincent Stabilito, Luke Lucerne, Cameron Robinson, Trevor Elfvin, Cary and Riley Palmer all had 3 wins.

Caitlyn Walker wins National Title at 2016 USWA Girls Folkstyle Nation Championships held in Oklahoma City, OK. Kaitlyn wrestled in the Cadet Division and pinned in the finals to win the 88 pound title.

Amanda Walker won two medals over the weekend she finished 5th at Cadet 108 and finished 5th at Junior 105. Great job by the Walker girls you make us so Proud. I see some Fargo medals in your future.

Mohawk Wrestling Club is proud to announce that Amanda Walker was a double All-American at the Cadet and Junior National Championship held in Fargo, ND. Amanda placed 6th in both Cadet (101) and Junior (105) in Women’s Freestyle.

We have ended our current season a little early due to poor attendance at all our locations and we will keep you all posted of our plans moving forward. We want to congratulate all the Mohawk wrestlers that have either qualified for a National Dual Team (Schoolboy Dual Team LJ Khan and Jackson Erb) and Junior Dual Team (Nick Carpenter) and for Fargo (Dom Stabilito, Vincent Stabilito, Noah Kisselback, Nick Carpenter) great job! Also congratulations to Amanda Walker for making the Cadet World team and for Caitlin for her great showing at Body Bar Women’s Championship.

A great job was done by the Mohawk Wrestlers at the Junior Club Freestyle Duals we teams with our friends at Apache and we finished in 7th place is a super talented loaded event.

Coach Joe Stabilito Jr again has been selected as the Head Greco-Roman coach for our National Teams this year in Fargo.

Coach Stabilito Jr. was also selected at the Greco-Roman development coach for PAWF.

Coach Stabilito Sr. again will be the Fargo National Team leader and this year Coach Dave Bolich will be on the Fargo staff.

Also just want to Thank all the wrestlers and the parents for making this another successful season for the Mohawk wrestling club. A Special Thank You to Coach Dave Bolich and Jason Amy (Jason has been injured this season and we are looking forward to seeing him return in the Fall) for handling the sessions at Upper Moreland.

Neshaminy assistant head wrestling Coach Joe Stabilito Sr. was recently named the 2014 USA Wrestling Kids/Cadet Person of the Year. He is the first Pennsylvania coach selected for this award by USA Wrestling, the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States. The award is given to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities at the state, regional and national levels. The recipient should have contributed to the development of Kids/Cadet Division programs at the state, regional and national levels. Other criteria includes: willingness to propose new ideas and contribute to regional and national programs, participation on regional and national committees and boards. Stabilito has been involved in wrestling for 44 years, 14 with USA Wrestling.
Stabilito, the head coach of Mohawk Wrestling Club (USAW Club), is a USA Wrestling Bronze Certified Coach working on Silver. He was the team leader and head coach of the PA Schoolboy Dual Team from 2007-2014. The team was a five-time national champion during that span. He also was the team leader of the seven-time national champion PA Cadet Dual Teams from 2007-14. In addition, he was the team leader of PA Fargo Junior and Cadet Teams from 2007-14. He also was the head coach and team leader of the Mason Dixon Dual squad, winners of five consecutive champions 2009-14.
Stabilito’s resume also includes serving as head coach of the Warminster Spartans Youth Wrestling Club (1970-87), the Raiders (1987) and Mohawk Wrestling Club (1979-93). He was the head coach at Cardinal Dougherty High School (1974-77) and served as assistant coach at William Tennent High School (1983-88). He was the head coach and athletic director of the Hatboro-Horsham Wrestling Club (1989-2007) and the head coach of Sandy Run Middle School (2002-05). He was the assistant head coach at Upper Dublin High School from 2005-13 before moving to his current position as assistant head coach at Neshaminy for the past two years.
A 2014 District One Wrestling Hall of fame inductee, Stabilito is a board member of the PA Wrestling Hall of Fame, and he is also a member of the District One Wrestling Steering Committee.  He served as president of the Pennsylvania Amateur Wrestling Federation and was a delegate at the State Chairman’s Meeting in Colorado Spring from 2009-14.  Stabilito is co-founder of the East Mont Wrestling Club, which is now the Mohawk Wrestling Club. A charter member of the Buxmont Wrestling League, he served as president and vice president of the organization, and he also was president of the Warminster Spartans.  Stabilito was also President of the Intercounty Wrestling League and built that to the biggest league in Southeast PA with 43 Teams.

Mohawk Wrestlers did an outstanding job at Northeast Regionals.  In Freestyle we had the following wrestlers place Shawn Marion (Novice 65) 4th, Caitlyn Walker (Schoolboy 70) 3rd, Chris Walker (Schoolboy 84) 6th, LJ Khan (Schoolboy 98) 6th and Patrick Walker (Cadet 220) 4th. East Mont Wrestling Club and Speed Pursuit have joined forces to form the Mohawk Freestyle and Greco Wrestling Club

We will only offer you the ability to wrestle both Greco Roman and Freestyle to improve your wrestling skills but with Speed Pursuit offer you the ability to providing elite training to athletes of all ages.  Speed Pursuit system of sport specific training will make athletes reach their full potential.  With the use of proven training methods, individual attention and superior instruction our system will create success on any playing field.
Practice will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Practices start on Thursday March 20th, 2014 at Neshaminy High School Wrestling Room.
Speed Pursuit Sessions will be an additional cost of $10 per session and must be scheduled according to your selection on the registration form.

This is our fourth year for this Club but our goal for this season is to send as many of our wrestlers to qualifiers for the Schoolboy, Cadet and Junior Freestyle and Greco National Teams and Fargo National Championship.
Advantages of Learning Freestyle/Greco:
· Opportunity to compete against best wrestlers in state and nation
· Develops 5 point moves for scholastic competition
· Teaches wrestlers not to get turned on bottom
· Improves and emphasizes wrestling in neutral position. Bad shots are quickly turned to points by opponent
· Back Step and Back Arch skills will be taught, which are important fundamentals often neglected in school instruction
· Different enough from scholastic so that kids aren’t bored from a continuous season.
Wrestling Registration Fee: $150.00 which includes a T-Shirt and Singlet.
